PSG star Neymar is disappointed at his return to Barcelona breaking down, according to La Liga expert Guillem Balague.
The Brazil international has spent the summer trying to force a return to the Nou Camp, just two years after his controversial exit to the Parc des Princes.
However, on Saturday it emerged that Neymar had agreed to stay at PSG for just one more season.
And Balague has claimed the 27-year-old is ‘very disappointed’ by the deal failing to happen.
“PSG are waiting for the definite offer of Barcelona,” said Balague on his YouTube channel.
“And Barcelona hope to maybe put something together to impress PSG.
“But the look of it right now, and this comes from the Neymars themselves, is that he’s very disappointed because he feels it’s not going to happen.”
Barcelona do not have the funds to sign Neymar having already splurged the bulk of their cash on Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie De Jong.
They have tried making a transfer happen by other means, including a swap deal.
But that has been no easy task.
PSG have been open to the idea of signing Ivan Rakitic but the player himself has always made it clear he’d rather stay put.
Likewise, Ousmane Dembele.
Barcelona have been keen to offload the France international but Dembele would rather stay in Catalonia for the time being.
Meanwhile, former Barcelona star Rivaldo believes Neymar knows he made a mistake by joining PSG two years ago.
“We know everything that happened to @neymarjr,” the former striker said of his countryman on Instagram.
“His departure from @fcbarcelona was wrong never he should have left one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“But he is eager to come back and assume what he did. May the president of @fcbarcelona and all of the board don’t let @neymarjr go to another club.
“I hope it gets resolves with @psg and he can get back to where he should never have left. Visca Barca.”
