Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have opened the Under 17 World Cup by beating Hungary 4-2 at Estádio Olímpico, Goiânia, Brazil.
Gyorgy Komaromi scored the lead for Hungary three minutes into the game. 20 minutes later, Samson Tijani equalized with a penalty for Nigeria.
By half time, Hungary was leading Nigeria 2-1 when Samuel Major scored at the 28th minute.
However, at second half the Eaglets showed their prowess by dominating the game. Usman Ibrahim scored the second goal at the 79th minute to level the game. Oluwatimilehin Adeniyi’s goal at the 82nd minute put Nigeria in the lead. And 87 minutes later, Samson Tijani scored the fourth goal with a free kick.
Next, Nigeria will face Ecuador on Tuesday.
