Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has confirmed that Mesut Ozil will return to the field for tonight’s clash against Liverpool at Anfield.
Ozil has been largely absent on the field for most of this season with his last appearance at Carabao Cup match against Nottingham Forest in September.
But Emery said the former German international will be selected.
“If he’s in the group he has a possibility to play.” He said.
However, David Luiz, Calum Chambers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Granit Xhaka will not be available.
“David Luiz, Calum Chambers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Granit Xhaka are not in the group. Some players aren’t in the group.” Emery confirmed.
Xhaka was booed by fans after being substituted toward the end of Arsenal’s match against Crystal Palace last Sunday which resulted to a 2-2 draw.
The Spaniard coach has already announced the captain and Swiss international will be left behind.
“Tomorrow, for example, he’s not in the group,” Emery said.
“I wasn’t thinking him for that match. He will stay here to train. We are going to first recover him as a person because now he’s down. Then we will think on the team.”
Arsenal was leading with 2-0 during the first half but gave it up when they allowed their opponents break through their defense and slot in two equalizing goals.
