Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s appointment as Captain of the team was widely celebrated by fans but not all at the club seem to join in the celebration.

Aubameyang was made captain of Arsenal squad after former captain, Granit Xhaka, was stripped of his captaincy for insulting fans during match against Crystal Palace.

The Gabonese striker has a more friendly relationship with fans as he has netted eight Premier League goals this season.

But his appointment did not go down well with many in the club most especially because of his relationship with contributors on AFTV.

According to The Athletic, complaints were lodged against him for inviting AFTV contributor ‘Troopz’ to watch games in his executive box. The executive box is located in an exclusive area where families and friends of players can stay and watch games.

However, Emery has explained why Aubameyang was appointed: “Aubameyang is first because he is experienced and he has the respect of the dressing room.”

“He was the top scorer last year in the league and I know he needs time to take that responsibility 100% but we will support him.

“Every player will support every captain and we are going to support him as first captain because he took a step ahead to take that responsibility.” The Spaniard added.

Twitter is buzzing as fans are already reacting to Aubameyang’s captaincy being questioned.
