Harry Kane made history as the first player to score 20 Champions League goals in 24 games as Tottenham came from behind to beat Olympiakos 4-2 on Tuesday.
But Dele Alli’s surprise shot at half time gave hope to the Spurs who were visibly stressed and admonished to calm down by new coach, Mourihno.
The Spurs started the game on a slow pace and conceded two goals from Youssef El-Arabi and Ruben Semedo in the early first half.
Then Harry Kane equalized with Lucas Moura’s cross five minutes after second half began.
Spurs defender, Serge Aurier scored the third goal while Kane finished with a fourth goal with Christian Eriksen’s free kick.
The England captain the first player to score 20 goals in 24 Champions League matches. He broke Alessandro del Piero’s record of scoring 20 goals in 26 Champions League game while playing for Juventus.
This is Jose Mourihno’s first Champions League win since resuming duty as Tottenham Hotspur manager last week.
Tottenham has now successfully qualified for the last 16 having finished second place in Group B with 10 points. Bayern Munich is first with 15 points and will also be playing in the last 16.
