Virgil van Dijk scored twice from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s assists within six first half minutes for Liverpool to beat Brighton 2-1 on Saturday.

The Reds have now moved 11 points clear at the top of Premier League table.

However, keeper Alisson’s handball outside his penalty area and subsequent red card almost spoiled the show for Liverpool.

Brighton substitute Leandro Trossard shot an accurate penalty in the 79th minute.

Allison will now miss Liverpool’s upcoming match against Everton at Anfield in the Premier League on Wednesday while Brighton will face Arsenal on Thursday.

The Reds remain top of the Premier League table with 40 points, while Man City who earlier drew 2-2 against Newcastle are second with 29 points.
