Cristiano Ronaldo is allegedly regretting his decision to leave Real Madrid for Juventus in July last year and has expressed his regret to his teammates,  reports say.

According to Sky Sports, the rumour started after the Portuguese star failed to win the 2019 Ballon D’Or which was awarded to Lionel Messi. Ronaldo the third contender after Virgil van Dijk who was second after Messi.

Reports say 34-years-old Ronaldo believes he would have won the Prestigious award in 2018 and 2019 if he had stayed at Real Madrid.

2018 Ballon D’Or was won by former Real Madrid teammate, Luka Modric, but Ronaldo insisted that he should have been declared the winner, claiming that his numbers don’t lie. “On the pitch I’ve done everything to win the Ballon d’Or, numbers do not lie, but I’m no less happy if I do not win, I have wonderful friends and a family, I play in one of the best clubs,” Ronaldo said on his defeat where he placed second to Modric.

On September, Ronaldo was quoted saying he deserved to win 2019 Ballon D’Or award ahead of Messi, though he admitted it would be tough.

“I would love [more], and I think I deserve it,” Ronaldo said. “Messi is a fantastic guy, a fantastic player. He’s in the history of football – but I think I have to have six or seven or eight to be above him.”

But Juventus Sports Director Fabio Paratici claims contrary to Ronaldo’s regret rumours, the five time Ballon D’Or winner actually wants to win his sixth while playing for Juventus.

“He wants to win another Ballon d’Or and wants to do it with us. We support him,” Paratici said.

Paratici also said Ronaldo deserved to win 2019 Ballon D’Or.

“He wanted the Serie A MVP because he is an ambitious person and wants to prove that he is also the best here. In our opinion, he deserves the Ballon d’Or,” he said.
