Manchester United secured a spot in the round of 32 as they thrashed Alkmaar 4-0 in Europa League Group L match on Thursday at Old Trafford.

After a slow first half, the Red Devils burst into life and scored four goals in 11 minutes.

Ashley Young scored the opening goal in the 53rd minute and Mason Greenwood scored five minutes later.

Juan Mata scored a penalty for United after Greenwood was fouled by Jordy Clasie in the 18 box.

Then Greenwood completed his brace two minutes later, thus ending Alkmaar’s hope of winning in the game.

United lead in the Group L with 13 points while Alkmaar follow with 9 points.
