Dele Alli scored the winning goal as Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to defeat Brighton 2-1 in a premier league match on Thursday.
This is a special gift to Mourihno whose side suffered 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday as well as losing his dog on Christmas day.
Brighton were clearly dominating the first half and were rewarded with Adam Webster’s opening goal. The first half ended with Brighton on 1-0 lead.
But Harry Kane whose earlier goal was cancelled by VAR for being slightly offside, equalised for the Spurs in the 53rd minute.
Then Dele Alli put the Spurs ahead with a stunning goal from Serge Aurier’s pullback in the 72nd minute.
Kane also appealed for a penalty in the 31st minute when his free-kick struck Bernardo on the arm, but it was turned down. Brighton, however, were given a free kick when Harry Winks, who had earlier assisted Kane’s goal, challenged Ezequiel Schelotto. Although he denied making contact with Schelotto, the referee still booked him and Pascal Gross took the free kick which Webster headed into Spurs’ net.
But Alli saved the day after Kane’s equalizer and placed Tottenham Hotspur back to fifth position in the Premier League.
