Top English premier league clubs, Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly targeting Nigerian Star, Samuel Chukwueze for the January transfer window.

According to, the 20-year-old has become one of the brightest prospects in La Liga and is attracting interest from a host of top European clubs, who have taken a liking to his pace and dribbling.

French giants Lyon have also being linked to the player. Lyon is looking to strengthen their attacking position following the long term injuries of Memphis Depay and Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Moussa Dembele’s impending move to premier league.

However, the French side who are strong contenders against Liverpool and Chelsea for Chukwueze have already made an offer.

But it is understood that the young player has been ‘promised’ to an English club with a release clause of £52m amid reports of Liverpool’s interest.

Chukwueze has been in good form so far scoring 5 goals in 18 appearances in his current club, Villarreal.

The 20 year old was also part of the Nigerian squad that won the Under-15 World Cup in 2015 where he won the Bronze boot.

Chukwueze has made 13 appearances for Nigeria’s Super Eagles and scored 2 goals so far which have led him to win Nigerian young player of the year for 2017-18.

The Villarreal midfielder has also been named by UEFA in the 50 young players to watch in 2019-20.
