Barcelona boss, Ernesto Valverde, says talks about his being sacked is inevitable after he watched his team defeated 3-2 by Atletico Madrid in Super Cup semi final held on Thursday at Saudi Arabia.

The champions who dominated the game were handed a late defeat after Angel Correa scored a surprise third goal for Atletico to book their place in the final against Real Madrid on Sunday, January 12.

“Coaches always move with the idea of working hard and giving everything in every game,” Valverde said after the match.

“We know what football is like, that there is always permanent instability.

“When the results are bad or when you lose, as has happened tonight, I suppose we will talk about this and other things. It’s inevitable but I will do my job.”

There are reports that Valverde’s future in the club will be discussed in a board meeting on Monday.
