Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola watched from the sidelines as Sergio Aguero made history as the EPL highest foreign goalscorer as well as the most hat-trick scorer with his hat-trick against Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Argentine star surpassed Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry’s as well as Alan Shearer’s records.

And now, the top flight striker is being compared to Barcelona star and fellow compatriot, Lionel Messi.

According to Guardiola who has been privileged to manage both players so far in his coaching career, said Aguero may be one of the best footballers in the world but Messi remains THE BEST.

“Sergio is one of the best, no doubt,” said Guardiola. “The best is Messi, but the rest? Sergio is absolutely one of them.”

The Spaniard also added that all the players congratulated Aguero for his record achievement in the match which saw City reclaim their position at the second place in Premier League with 14 points behind Liverpool.

“All the players in the locker room congratulated him.

“To break this record of an incredible legend like Thierry Henry, it means it’s not just for a short period, it’s many years.

“To be the foreign player with the most goals and hat-tricks speaks for itself.

“It’s an honour to be here the day he achieved that, hopefully he can score more. He will die scoring goals.

“There are players through the incredible history of English football and he is one of them, he helps to make the Premier League and English football better.”

Algeria international Riyad Mahrez scored twice while Gabriel Jesus also scored to make the entire goal of the match for City six while Anwar El Ghazi’s penalty for Villa made it 6-1.
