Liverpool extended their lead by three points from Virgil Van Dijk’s and Mohamed Salah’s goals after beating Manchester United 2-0 in premier league on Sunday at Anfield.

Liverpool were the superior team in the first half that saw Van Dijk head the opener at the 14th minute.

United picked up a late pressure which forced the Reds to defend their 1-0 lead as both Andreas Pereira and Anthony Martial missed their chances in the first and second half respectively.

Then Salah struck at stoppage time to ensure that Liverpool remain unbeaten in premier league this season with 21 wins in 22 games in which United are the only team to take a point off them in October 20 match.

Liverpool could have made it three goals earlier but VAR ruled out Roberto Firmino’s goal after spotting Van Dijk’s foul on David de Gea.

Next, Liverpool play away match against Wolves on Thursday while Manchester United welcome Burnley on Wednesday.
