Serie A giants, Inter Milan, hope to complete signing Christian Eriksen from Tottenham on Monday.

The 27-year-old had made it clear that he wanted to leave the Spurs since the beginning of the season to try other clubs outside England.

Eriksen, whose contract will expire by the end of the season with a release clause of  £16.9m, had hoped to move to Spain but that didn’t happen.

The Denmark international caught the interest of Inter Milan who have outlined an agreement to be finalized next week.

Eriksen, who was not named among the squad in Tottenham’s FA Cup fourth-round tie with Southampton on Saturday, is the third premier league player to join Inter this season after Ashley Young from Manchester United and Victor Moses on loan from Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Inter have slipped four points behind Serie A leaders Juventus following successive draws against Atalanta and Lecce.
