Quique Setien suffered his first defeat as Barcelona boss when Valencia beat the Spanish champions 2-0 in La Liga match on Saturday.

Jordi Alba unwittingly broke through Barça’s defense when he deflected Maxi Gomez’s powerful strike past Marc-Andre ter Stegen to open scoring for Valencia with an own goal.

Gomez whose first half penalty was saved by Marc-Andre ter Stegen, completed the second in the 77th minute to give the host a first home win against Barcelona since 2007.

Rival fans clashed outside the Mestalla Stadium before the game.

Meanwhile, Barcelona remain top of La Liga with 43 points, same points with second placed Real Madrid.
