Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have confirmed that Inter Milan loanee, Alexis Sanchez will return to United this summer.

Earlier, frujusports.com.ng had reported that the Chilean international will be returning to Old Trafford after a not so impressive loan spell at Inter Milan.

“Alexis will come back in the summer and prove you all wrong,” said Solskjaer.

Sanchez was signed to United from Arsenal in 2018 with a fee of £500,000 a week which makes him the highest earner in Old Trafford.

But his big money transfer wasn’t justified as the Chilean had failed to live up to expectations, having scored just five goals in 45 games for United.

He left for Inter Milan on loan but he was plagued by injuries and he only scored one goal in six appearances for the Italian side.

Meanwhile, United have stalled signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes this month over paying fee.

Solskjaer have also confirmed that the January transfer window has been particularly difficult as Old Trafford have been unable to sign new players.

“We’ve got players here we’re working hard to get back as well and if there is something out there, then the club are pursuing that and looking at it,” he said.

“Of course it is a difficult window. It always has been. The clubs don’t want to lose their best players.

“I can’t remember how many good ones we’ve brought in in January. Henrik (Larsson) was good, Nemanja (Vidic) and Patrice (Evra) were two good ones.”

On the upcoming second leg of Carabao Cup semi finals against Manchester City, the Norwegian said, “It has to be a perfect performance to win with two goals against such a good team away from home,” said Solskjaer.

“For us it’s not about away goals, we just need to score two more than them.

“If we concede two we need to score four so it would be good not to concede first because that makes it less difficult.”

City had beaten United 3-1 in the first leg at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are hoping to reverse the case in the second leg which will hold on Wednesday at Etihad Stadium.
