Trezeguet’s injury-time winner helped Aston Villa eliminate Leicester City 2-1 on 3-2 aggregate to reach the Carabao Cup final on Tuesday at Villa Park.
Matt Targett scored the first goal to put Villa ahead in the 12th minute before Kelechi Iheanacho equalised in the 72nd minute for Leicester.
The game looked like it was going to end in penalties but Egyptian Trezeguet fired into Leicester’s net from Ahmed Elmohamedy’s superb cross.
Villa goalkeeper Orjan Nyland was also very instrumental to the joyous night as he saved a string of shots from Leicester.
Villa Park was wild with joy as fans saw their side defeat top form Leicester 2-1 to reach Carabao Cup finals for the first time since 2010.
Dean Smith’s side will face either Manchester United or Manchester City who will clash on Wednesday, in the finals.
