Nigeria U23 international Taiwo Awoniyi’s future is still not decided before the end of January transfer window in England and Germany.

The Liverpool player who is currently in Mainz has been tipped to leave the German club due to lack of playing time.

Liverpool wants the 22-year-old to try another club on loan to enhance his playing abilities.

Both the premier league leaders and Bundesliga outfit are on the same page regarding the premature termination of Awoniyi’s loan deal.

Awoniyi is already attracting genuine interest from Belgian First Division A teams despite speculation linking him with clubs in Spain, Turkey and France.

But the problem is Liverpool would rather see the Nigerian play in a new league instead of returning to Belgium where he has worn the jersey of KAA Gent and had two loan spells with Mouscron.

Awoniyi was first signed from Imperial Soccer Academy in 2015 before he was loaned out to FSV Frankfurt and NEC due to a work permit problem.

The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles star has made six appearances in the Bundesliga for Mainz for 146 minutes.
