Alexandre Lacazette scored the winning goal for Arsenal to boost their hope of finishing top four in premier league.

The Frenchman swept a close-range effort into the bottom-left corner from Mesut Ozil’s cushioned header for his third goal in four games.

The goal which was confirmed by VAR lifted the Gunners from 10th to 9th with five points behind Chelsea in fourth.

West Ham, who enjoyed the better of the scoring opportunities until that point, remain 16th, above the bottom three only on goal difference.

Although David Moyes’ side had limited possession, they were still more active than their hosts who came into the game sluggishly until Lacazette slotted in the winner.

The result means Arsenal has claimed a third consecutive league win at home for the first time since February 2019.
