Arsenal beat Premier League Champions Liverpool on 5-4 penalties to win the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Gunners Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the opening goal with a brilliant finish just 12 minutes into the game.

However, Liverpool dominated the game in the second half and equalised when Takumi Minamino slotted his first goal since his January move from Red Bull Salzburg to send the game into the penalties.

Rhian Brewster who was introduced during the stoppage time missed his penalty shot. And Aubameyang stepped up and scored the winning penalty to secure the Community Shield title.

Next, Arsenal will face Fulham on Premier League opening weekend on September 12 while Liverpool host Leeds United later same day.
