Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze has reportedly dropped out of England U21 squad ahead of European U21 Championship qualifiers against Kosovo and Austria on September 4th and 8th.

The English Football Association officially confirmed that Eberechi Eze as well as Chelsea’s Reece James will not be available for the qualifiers.

Eze and James will be replaced by Brighton & Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey who was given a late call-up by Young Lions boss Aidy Boothroyd.

However, Bukayo Saka, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Eddie Nketiah made the squad.

NFF President Amaju Pinnick has gone all out to convince Eze to switch his allegiance from England to Nigeria but the youngster has requested for more time to make up his mind.

Eze failed to take up an opportunity to play international football for Nigeria when he was invited to a Super Eagles training camp in March 2017.

He also couldn’t make his debut after a proposed friendly with Burkina Faso was cancelled.
