Luis Suarez is close to agreeing terms with Juventus.

But that can only happen if the Uruguayan agrees to a severance package from his current club, Barcelona.

Suarez has a contract with Barcelona which runs until the end of the 2020/21 season.

Although his wife Sofia Balbi is an Italian citizen, Suarez will have to become an Italian citizen to be eligible to play in Serie A in accordance with the League’s squad regulations.

His deal could be complicated as Juve recently filled their last two overseas slots by signing American Weston McKennie from Schalke and Brazil international Arthur from Barcelona.

But the club is reportedly not worried about the 33-year-old joining their side as Juve currently enjoys a good relationship with Barcelona.
