Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has released the team’s starting lineup in international friendly against Algeria happening by 7:30 pm today at Austria.
Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Semi Ajayi, Paul Onuachu who got a late call-up as Victor Osimhen’s replacement and debutant Frank Onyeka will start the game.
Maduka Okoye has been picked ahead of Dele Alampasu and Mathew Yakubu in goal.
Rohr also opted for the duo of William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun in central defence while Porto’s Zaidu Sanusi is picked ahead of Jamilu Collins for the left-back position and Tyronne Ebuehi will occupy the right-back position.
However, regulars like Oghenekaro Etebo, Wilfred Ndidi and Joe Aribo who have all be exempted from the schedule.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian senior team had earlier undergone a compulsory COVID-19 test ahead of the Algeria clash which is generally deemed a rematch of the 2019 African Cup of Nations semi-final which Algeria won 2-1 courtesy of Riyad Mahrez’s late winner.
