Odion Ighalo is likely to face a stiff competition as Manchester United are gunning for AC Milan striker Hakan Calhanoglu in a five-year deal.

Calhanoglu currently has a contract with AC Milan which will expire next summer and the 26-year-old is said to have turned his back against extending his deal.

Other top European clubs are interested in Calhanoglu including AC Milan who are reportedly not in a hurry to sell their talented striker.

Hakan has played eight games for AC Milan scoring four goals and also creating four assists so far in Serie A this season.

The Turkish professional footballer is also expected to meet AC Milan chiefs this week for another talk over his future at the club.

United boss Solskjaer has not been lucky in signing striker in the recently ended summer transfer window as he failed in his bid to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and Ousmene Dembele from Barcelona.

United made a poor Premier League start in the new season and are currently sitting 15th on the league table after five games.
