The Squirrel of Benin Republic recorded  their second win in Group L of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers after pipping Lesotho 1-0 in Porto Novo on Saturday.

It is Benin’s second consecutive win in the group after losing to Nigeria on matchday one.

Jodel Dossou was the hero for Benin as he netted in the 24th minute to secure the win for his side.

The win took Benin Republic to second on six points after three games, just one point behind the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Lesotho are bottom in the group on just a point after the same number of games played.

Benin will hope to claim a favourable result and boost their chances of qualifying for the 2021 AFCON, when they travel to Lesotho for the reverse fixture on Tuesday.

The winner and runners-up will qualify automatically for the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
