Arsenal’s new signing Thomas Partey has been ruled out of the squad’s trip to Leeds United in a Premier League game on Sunday.

Partey suffered a thigh injury during Arsenal’s last Premier League game against Aston Villa in which the Gunners were humiliated 3-0 before the international break.

The former Atletico Madrid star is continuing to be assessed by Arsenal’s medical team and it is unclear when he will return.

Meanwhile, the Gunners will also be without Mohamed Elneny and Sead Kolasinac as they tested positive for coronavirus during international duties for Egypt and Bosnia respectively.

However, there is cheering news as well for the Emirates as Gabriel Martinelli and Pablo Mari are getting closer to making their comebacks.

The duo has been out since June but Mari has returned for full training after an ankle injury while Martinelli aims to join in with squad training sessions in the next two weeks as he recovers from a knee problem.
