Jurgen Klopp and Zindine Zidane have been named in the five-man shortlist of the 2020 FIFA The Best Awards.

Klopp was nominated after he led Liverpool to their first Premier League title in 30 years.

Not only did the Reds win the title but they did so in a spectacular fashion, gapping second-place Manchester City with a staggering 18 points.

Liverpool also won their sixth UEFA Champions League trophy under the German tactician in 2019.

However, Klopp will contend with four other managers for the prestigious FIFA Best Awards this year.

The managers in this category are Marcelo Bielsa, Hans-Dieter Flick, Julen Lopetegui and Zinedine Zidane .

Zidane was nominated after leading Real Madrid to lift the La Liga title for the 2019/2020 season.

Hans-Dieter Flick was shortlisted after he led Leeds United back to the Premier League after winning the EFL Championship, two years after getting the appointment.

Flick was also excellent with his Bayern Munich team after leading them to win five trophies in the year under review both domestically and on the continent.

Julen Lopetegui who was discharged unceremoniously by Real Madrid in 2018, picked his career when he led Sevilla to Europa League title for the 2019/2020 season.

Meanwhile, Klopp won the award last year and he is one of the favourites to win this year’s editionย based on his impact in Liverpool since joining the club five years ago.
