Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski are the final three contenders of the 2020 FIFA Men’s Best Player Of The Year Award.
The three players were revealed today 11 December 2020 on FIFA’s verified Twitter handle.
The players were selected for their respective achievements during the period from 20 July 2019 to 7 October 2020.
Argentine and Leeds United coach Marcelo Bielsa, Bayern Munich and German coach Hans-Dieter Flick as well as Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool made the cut for the Men’s Coach of the Year final shortlist.
For the men’s best goalkeeper category, Alisson Becker of Liverpool, Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich shot stopper Manuel Neuer were shortlisted.
Heung-Min Son of Tottenham Hotspur, Luis Suarez of Atletico Madrid and Flamingos Giorgiande Arrascaeta are the final contenders for the Puskas award.
Other award categories are Women’s Player of the Year, Women’s Coach of the Year and Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year.
The ceremony will take place on December 17 and will be shown virtually for the first time due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
