Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has been ruled out for the rest of the season after he suffered a severe ankle injury during Ligue 1 defeat to Lyon at the weekend.
A late tackle from Thiago Mendes on Neymar saw the Brazilian crashing to the floor in tears and was later stretchered off the pitch.
Mendes was handed a red card but Lyon held on and eventually ended the game with all three points as Tino Kadewere scored the only goal in the first half.
Reports suggest that Neymar’s ankle could have been broken as it appeared twisted in the wrong way round.
However, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has come under pressure following his side’s fourth defeat of the season as they dropped to third spot on the table.
Lille remains top of the league with 29 points from 14 matches while Lyon are in second with an inferior goal difference.
Meanwhile, PSG have been drawn with Barcelona in the latest Champions League last 16 fixture which was released on Monday.
